Lead Qualification & CRM Automation
Rule-based lead scoring, auto-tagging and CRM field mapping with duplicate protection, delivered in n8n for two Upwork clients.
Client feedback
“Siddique delivered exactly what we needed for ai lead qualification and automation. The scoring and auto-tagging system was clear, practical, and easy to adjust. Good communication, solid work, and a smooth delivery. I’d definitely work with him again.”
Overview
Two small fixed-price engagements delivered in September and October 2026: an AI-assisted lead qualification and scoring system, and an n8n workflow that maps incoming leads into Zoho CRM with duplicate handling.
Problem
Leads arrived from several sources and had to be reviewed, scored and entered into the CRM by hand, which was slow and produced duplicate or inconsistent records.
Existing process
Manual review of each lead, manual tagging, and copying details into the CRM.

Architecture
Workflow
n8n workflows triggered by incoming lead data.
Qualification
Scoring and auto-tagging rules, built so the client can read and adjust them.
CRM
Field mapping into the client's CRM (Zoho CRM in one engagement).
Data quality
Duplicate logic so the same lead does not create a second record.
Workflow steps
- A lead arrives from a source such as a form or an ad platform.
- Rules score the lead and apply tags.
- The lead is mapped into the correct CRM fields.
- Duplicates are detected before a record is created.
- Staff work from clean, tagged records.

Key engineering decisions
- Scoring rules are kept simple and visible so the client can change them without me.
- De-duplication happens before record creation, not as a clean-up afterwards.
Reliability and safety decisions
- Duplicate protection on CRM writes.
- Rules rather than free-form AI judgement for scoring, so results are explainable.
Outcome and limitations
Outcome: Both engagements were completed and rated 5.0 by the clients on Upwork. No performance metrics are published.
Limitations: These were small, fixed-price jobs for non-healthcare businesses, and client details are not shown. The same pattern applies to clinic enquiry handling, but a healthcare version needs its own data-handling review.
